Company Information
National Tech-Traders started as a brokerage house for Professional Used Audio and Video equipment in 1992. Company founder, Linus Sagadore had previously started, ran then sold Pre Sound Equipment Exchangeb between 1980 and 1983, in Toronto.
Linus has a strong base to work from in order to help you with your equipment needs. Diplomas in Electronics, Computer Science and Recording Arts has helped him through his career in many areas of the electronic media world. From Live Sound and theatre tech, working with Harbourfront in Toronto, Centure Theatre and the Stephan Barry Band in Montreal, to the Rebecca Cohn Theatre and various bands in Halifax.
From there he went on to equipment and facility service looking after systems for the Shereton Hotel, Halifax City Council Chambers, Halifax Department of Music (School Board) and for local musicians and sound companies.
From 1987 to it's closing. Linus was chief engineer at CKO Radio, Canada's All News Radio Network and was chief engineer for Sun Radio at it's inception.
In 1980, a new concept in professional audio equipment selling was brought to Canada. Linus Sagadore was the first person to do used equipment sales on a national front. With Pro Sound Equipment Exchange he serviced Recording Studios, Radio and TV stations, Live Sound companies and Cable Stations, reaching more than 1,100 companies before selling the company in 1983 and moving back to Halifax.
In 1992, he started National Tech-Traders. A company which sold Pro Audio and Video equipment, at the time mostly in Canada but finding more work in the US as the internet grew.
Having a web presence since 1996, techtraders has seen the impact that the internet has had on how companies buy and sell equipment.
The purpose of the used equipment broker is to insure that a transaction is safe.
This is done with the knowledge and experience they bring to the sale. One policy of our company which adds an element of saftey to a transaction is that the money and the equipment should not be in the same place at the same time. The concept that the broker holds the money until the buyer insures that he/she got what they bargined for has its position in the industry.
